TrackonAI Now Supports the Model Context Protocol
TrackonAI is the first Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) system with native support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard for connecting AI assistants to live data sources.
Commodity traders can now query their live trading data directly from AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and others that support MCP. No switching between screens, no running manual reports. Just ask a question and get an answer from your real data.
What Can You Ask?
With TrackonAI's MCP integration, traders can ask questions like:
- "How much Gedaref sesame seeds do I have left?" — instantly see open positions with quantities, prices, and warehouse locations
- "What shipments are arriving this week?" — get vessel names, ETAs, ports, and cargo details
- "Who owes us money and how many days overdue?" — run AR aging analysis across all counterparties
- "Get me the Bill of Lading for the shipment on MV Ocean Star" — find and download shipment documents directly
- "Run the P&L report by trader for March" — execute analytics reports and download results
How It Works
The TrackonAI MCP Server provides read-only access to your trading platform through nine specialized tools covering entity search, structured queries, document retrieval, and analytics reports. The AI assistant translates your natural language question into the right query, calls the appropriate tool, and presents the results in a clear format.
All communication is secured through OAuth 2.1 authentication with the same Cognito credentials you use for the TrackonAI web application. Tenant isolation is enforced at every layer, and MCP access must be explicitly enabled per tenant by an administrator.

What Is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard created by Anthropic that allows AI assistants to securely connect to external data sources and tools. It is supported by Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, and a growing number of AI applications.
MCP works by defining a set of tools that an AI assistant can call on behalf of the user. Each tool has a clear description of what it does and what parameters it accepts. The AI assistant decides which tool to call based on the user's question, executes it, and formats the results into a natural language response.
Security
- Read-only access: No data can be created, modified, or deleted through MCP
- Same authentication: Uses your existing TrackonAI credentials via OAuth 2.1
- Tenant isolation: Same security model as the web application, enforced at every layer
- Opt-in only: MCP must be explicitly enabled per tenant and per user by an administrator
- Encrypted: All communication over HTTPS/TLS
Data Privacy
TrackonAI itself is fully secure. Your data is isolated and encrypted, and even our team cannot access it. That does not change.
The AI assistant feature is optional. When you enable it, you choose where the AI processes your data:
- Cloud AI (Claude.ai, ChatGPT) — simplest setup, your data is processed on the AI provider's computers
- Private Cloud (Amazon Bedrock) — AI runs in your own cloud account, the AI company never sees your data
- Your Own Computers — maximum privacy, nothing leaves your network

- Connect from your AI assistant using the server URL:
